A woman who drinks alcohol during pregnancy puts her baby’s health at risk. This booklet explains that there is no known safe level of alcohol consumption during pregnancy and that birth defects caused by maternal drinking are completely preventable. Discusses fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, including fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS), alcohol-related neurodevelopmental disorder (ARND), and alcohol-related birth defects (ARBD). Examines some of the ways maternal drinking harms infants, including physical damage (such as smaller brains and facial problems), mental and learning disabilities, and organ malformation. Urges avoiding all alcohol during pregnancy and getting help to quit. 16 pages. Minimum order is 25.
